Needles, California: Candidates running for Needles City Mayor Council and Needles City Council will be answering questions submitted from the community during a Candidate Forum happening at 6:00 p.m. PT on Monday, September 21st, 2020.

The candidate forum is being sponsored by the Needles Downtown Business Alliance, and is being held inside the Needles City Council Chamber located at 1111 Bailey Avenue near J Street in Needles, California.

– Jeff Williams (Current Mayor – Incumbent)

– Sandra Queen Noble.

*** Candidates running For Needles City Council includes: ***

– Tona Belt (Current City Council Member- Incumbent)

– Louise Evans (Currently Appointed City Council Member – Incumbent)

– Kirsten Merritt (Teacher)

– Jamie McCorkle

– Ruth Musser-Lopez (Archaeologist/ Businesswoman)

– Ellen A. Campbell (Admin Legal Assistant)

During the hour candidate forum, each candidate will be allowed two minutes for an opening statement, a moderator to ask the anonymous questions submitted and collected in that last few days from the community, and one minute for a brief closing statement.

ZachNews has learned that the moderator for tonight’s Candidate Forum will be Owen Long.

Mr. Long is well know in the community and is active in many local organizations – Exalted Ruler of the Needles Elks Lodge, Vice Worthy President of the Needles Eagles Aerie, Needles Regional Museum volunteer and Needles Rodeo Association member.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restriction and guidelines in California, the candidate forum will be closed to the public, only those working as part of the candidate forum, the candidates and members of the press will be allowed inside.

No campaign signs or materials will be allowed inside or outside the Needles City Council Chamber.
