Needles, California: The community can submit questions for Needles City Council and Needles City Mayor candidates for the Candidate Forum that will be happening on Monday, September 21st, 2020.

The candidate forum is being sponsored by the Needles Downtown Business Alliance, and will begin at 6:00 p.m. PT on Monday inside the Needles City Council Chamber located at 1111 Bailey Avenue near J Street in Needles, California.

– Jeff Williams (Current Mayor – Incumbent)

– Sandra Queen Noble.

*** Candidates running For Needles City Council includes: ***

– Tona Belt (Current City Council Member- Incumbent)

– Louise Evans (Currently Appointed City Council Member – Incumbent)

– Kirsten Merritt (Teacher)

– Jamie McCorkle

– Ruth Musser-Lopez (Archaeologist/ Businesswoman)

– Ellen A. Campbell (Admin Legal Assistant)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restriction and guidelines in California, the candidate forum will be closed to the public, only those working as part of the candidate forum, the candidates and members of the press will be allowed inside.

The community can submit their questions anonymously to an individual candidate or to all the candidates by dropping off their written questions inside a sealed envelope.

You can put the sealed envelope into the boxes located inside Jernigan Insurance office located at 920 West Broadway near G Street in Downtown Needles, California or inside Hardware Express store located at 419 West Broadway near A Street in Downtown Needles, California; open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT on Friday, open from 7:00 a.m. PT to 4 p.m. Saturday, closed on Sunday, and open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT on Monday.

All questions from the community must be submitted before 11:00 a.m. PT on Monday, September 21st, 2020.

During the hour candidate forum, each candidate will be allowed two minutes for an opening statement, a moderator to ask the anonymous questions submitted from the community, and one minute for a brief closing statement.

No campaign signs or materials will be allowed inside or outside the Needles City Council Chamber.

The community will be able to watch the candidate forum at ZachNews on Facebook and the City of Needles Channel on YouTube.
