South El Monte, California: Magnitude 4.6 earthquake has occurred at 11:38 p.m. PT on Friday, September 18th, 2020.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake was felt from Oxnard to Riverside and as far north as Santa Clarita and as far south as Carlsbad.
According to Seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones, the earthquake was similar in type and location to the 1987 Whittier-Narrows quake that killed three people, but this one was much smaller in comparison.
Seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones tweeted about the earthquake saying, “Still getting everything processed, but it was a pretty good jolt here in Pasadena.”
Reports that the Los Angeles Fire Department went immediately into earthquake mode, and is checking all 106 fire stations for damage.
According to the Los Angeles International Airport, crews are thoroughly checking the airfield and terminals for any damages.
At this moment, there has been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
