Golden Valley, Arizona: The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has released publicly information regarding a fatal crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Shinarump Drive and Oatman Highway that occurred on Saturday, September 12th, 2020.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 4:20 PM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the area of Shinarump Dr. and Oatman Highway in regards to a two vehicle collision involving a Ford truck and a motorcycle.
Upon arrival, the driver of the motorcycle, later identified as Roman Grant, 25 of Golden Valley, was found to be deceased.
The motorcycle was traveling east bound on Shinarump Dr. at a high rate of speed as it came over a hilltop.
The Ford was traveling west bound on Shinarump Dr. when it entered into the left turn lane to turn onto Oatman Highway.
The driver of the Ford advised he looked and found no traffic and began his turn.
As the Ford was turning, the motorcycle collided with the truck head on.
Witnesses on scene advised that the motorcycle was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, and as it came over the hill the driver of the truck had no time to stop.
MCSO Crash Team investigators responded and took over the investigation.
Grant was transferred into the custody of the Mohave County Medical Examiner for further examination and toxicology.
Both vehicles were towed to the Sheriff’s Office for further processing.
This investigation is ongoing.
