Vidal Junction, California: There has been a head-on crash involving two vehicles along U.S. Route 95 near mile maker 24.
Reports over the scanner and by the California Highway Patrol of a fatality in the crash, and coroner crew is responding.
Reports over on the scanner that another person, injuries unknown, is being transported by helicopter, and another person possibly being transported by ground to a near by hospital.
Initial reports from the California Highway Patrol is the two vehicles involved in the crash are a Mercedes Sedan and Chevrolet Tahoe, and that the “RP” (Reported Party) advised 911 dispatch that a male person was non-responsive and was stuck in vehicle.
Hazardous material crew are also being called to the scene of the crash for several containers of gasoline found in a vehicle.
Please use caution driving through this area from traffic and possibly lane restrictions or closures.
ZachNews has learned from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner’s Office that emergency personnel responded and declared the driver of one of the involved vehicle, a 63-year-old male, deceased on scene.
The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The California Highway Patrol Needles Office is investigating the incident.
