Needles, California: Deputies are searching for a man who allegedly set a tent of a homeless United States veteran on fire along Army Road near Interstate 40.
Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department along with deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station and officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a vegetation fire off eastbound Interstate 40 at 11:21 p.m. PT on Wednesday, July 29th, 2020.
As deputies and ZachNews Photojournalist arrived to the scene, a man was found shaken up wearing only the clothes he had on him; saying a man set his tent on fire.
The victim tells ZachNews that the person who allegedly set his tent on fire is a male, possibly dark skin, 5’7 or 5’8, wearing short, has a limp and was carrying what appear to be a crowbar.
The victim also tell ZachNews said that he seen the allegedly man earlier in the day between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. PT on Wednesday inside the San Bernardino County Public Library.
The allegedly man was last seen heading west up Flip Mendez Parkway near Hospitality Lane in Needles, California.
