Needles, California: ZachNews has learned that members of the Needles City Council will be having a special meeting at 11:00 a.m. PT on Friday, July 10th, 2020 to discuss plan of action for city beaches and Jack Smith Memorial Park boat launch.
The agenda item #1 is to discuss plan of action for managing the anticipated crowd at the city owned and Jack Smith Memorial Park boat launch.
The picture above of the agenda sent into ZachNews by a local resident, who saw this posted online on Facebook and wanted to know if ZachNews had more information.
ZachNews has contacted the City of Needles for more information and will have that information as soon as that comes in.
This special meeting comes a few days after Bullhead City Mayor Tom Brady issued a proclamation on Tuesday, July 7th, 2020 closing down all city beaches and boat launches on weekends.
The proclamation declares that all Bullhead City beaches, boat launches and associated parks will be closed for the remainder of the summer on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The City of Needles wants to remain the public that the Needles City Council is continuing to hold meetings pursuant to the provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 which suspends certain requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act.
As a result of the California’s Executive Order to “Stay-At-Home”, the City of Needles said that in person participation at the Needles City Council meetings is not allowed at this time and the Needles City Council Chambers are not open to the public.
