Lake Havasu City, Arizona: The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has released publicly information regarding divers located deceased man in Lake Havasu on Monday, June 29th, 2020.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, members of the MCSO Dive Rescue and Recovery Team and the Lake Havasu City Police Department Dive Team began a second day of searching and canvassed the waters of Thompson Bay searching for the male subject.
At approximately 10:22 AM, divers located the male subject deceased in approximately 21 feet of water.
The male victim has been identified as Gary Elliott Welmer, 67 of Lake Havasu City.
This incident is still under investigation.
On Sunday (6/28) at approximately 4:07 PM, 9-1-1 calls were received by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center about a male subject that was missing in the water, on Lake Havasu, in the area of Thompson Bay.
Deputies with The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety responded to the area.
Several Boating Deputies who are members of the MCSO Dive Rescue and Recovery Team, donned their SCUBA gear, and immediately entered the water to search for the missing subject.
Members of the Lake Havasu City Police Department Dive Team arrived a short time later, and also assisted with the underwater search efforts.
