Barstow, California: The United States Geological Survey has confirmed that a magnitude 5.5 earthquake has occurred Wednesday afternoon.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake was centered approximately 10 miles south of Searles Valley, California and occurred at around 6:32 p.m. PT.
The earthquake was initially a magnitude 5.1 earthquake but was later upgraded.
The earthquake was felt around southern California and Nevada, including reports in Needles, California; Mohave Valley, Arizona; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
At this moment, no damage due to the earthquake was reported.
