Cape Canaveral, Florida: A successful launch of a SpaceX rocket with NASA astronauts on board occurred from Kennedy Space Center on Saturday, May 30th, 2020.

Space veterans Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken were scheduled to ride into orbit aboard the brand-new Dragon capsule on top of a Falcon 9 rocket enroute to the International Space Station.

Cheers erupt it from the control center as the SpaceX rocket shooted into the sky; “America Has Launched,” and “Go NASA, Go SpaceX; God Speed Doug and Bob” can be heard during the live broadcast of the historic launch.

This launch sets a new era in commercial space travel and putting the United States back in the business of launching astronauts into orbit from United States soil for the first time in nearly a decade.

Ultimately, NASA hopes to rely in part on its commercial partners as it works to send astronauts back to the moon in the next few years, and on to Mars in the 2030’s.

Great Work NASA and SpaceX, and Enjoy NASA Astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken.
