News Update: Mohave Valley, AZ: Small vegetation fire off Dike Road has burned 1.2 acres and is 75 precent contained.

Mohave Valley, Arizona: A small vegetation fire occurred off Dike Road just to the south of Courtwright Road.

Reports of the vegetation fire along the 10,000 block of Dike Road began coming in at around 8:40 a.m. PT on Friday, May 15th, 2020.

Smoke was seen from across the Colorado River in Needles, California.

Firefighters from Mohave Valley Fire Department, Golden Shores Fire Department, Bullhead City Fire Department and San Bernardino County Fire Department as well as Fort Mojave Tribal Police Department and Mohave County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene at the vegetation fire.

Firefighters kept the small flames away from a near by resident and making sure the vegetation fire doesn’t jump the Colorado River.

According to Don Gibson with Mohave Valley Fire Department, the fire has burned 1.2 acres, is at 75 precent contained and is under investigation.

Dike Road just south of Courtwright Road remains closed.
