Colorado River Tri-State: The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Wind Advisory for the Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave-Cadiz Basin-San Bernardino County- Upper Colorado River Valley- Including Lake Havasu City, Desert Hills, Topock, Vidal Junction, and Needles until 6:00 p.m. PT in California or 7:00 p.m. MT in Arizona on Monday, February 3rd, 2020.
The Wind Advisory includes Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave in Arizona, and the Cadiz Basin and San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley in California.
West to northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult for high profile vehicles. Strong winds over the open waters will make the lake water rough and hazardous and may result in high waves which may tip or swamp smaller craft.
Precautionary and preparedness actions; use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects. Boaters in the Wind Advisory area should use extreme caution when venturing onto area lakes. Stay close to shore or around protected areas.
