Needles, CA: Detectives assisted a multi-agency task force with a felony warrant service and arrested two subjects.

Needles, California: According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, at about 4:15 p.m. PT on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020, detectives from the Needles Police/ San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received a call from the multi-agency Arizona/Nevada task force, “GIITEM.” They were requesting assistance with apprehending a suspect they believed to be in the city of Needles on Palm Way. The suspect, Thomas Yakaitis, had two outstanding felony No Bail warrants out of the s tate of Nevada. Yakaitis was located and arrested at the Palm Way address. During the investigation, a hidden compartment for drugs was located inside of his vehicle with a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine.

A female, identified as Breanna Emery was also contacted during the arrest of Yakaitis. She initially gave a false name to law enforcement and was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

Yakaitis was arrested for the following charges:
– HS11379(a) Transportation of a Controlled Substance/ Felony, Bail $50,000.
– HS11366.8 Possession of a False Compartment for Drugs/ Felony, Bail $25,000.
– Out of State Larceny Warrant/ Felony No Bail
– Out of State Larceny Warrant/ Felony No Bail

Emery was arrested for the following charges:
– HS11377(a) Possession of a Controlled Substance/ Misdemeanor Cite-release
– PC148.9(a) False ID to a Peace Officer/ Misdemeanor Cite-release

Both suspects w ere booked into the Colorado River Station jail.
