Needles, California: According to Needles City Manager Rick Daniels, a “Boil Water Order” has been issued for the Lillyhill Apartments, 1001 Lillyhill Drive only as required by California state law for extended outages.
This Lillyhill Apartments, property has not had water since Tuesday morning.
The City of Needles has taken water samples and sent them to the State of California for results.
The City of Needles continues to deliver 15 cases of bottled water to residents of Lillyhill Apartments daily.
Set Free Church of Needles, located at 404 F Street, has made available a modular unity that has 10 showers.
Staff with the City of Needles is using one of the old transit busses to shuttle folks without transportation to Set Free Church of Needles.
When crews pressurized the repaired water line at the Lillyhill Drive bridge on Wednesday, it exposed a rupture at Lillyhill Apartments property.
Staff with the City of Needles has authorized Phillips Excavating Inc to make that repair while crews with the City of Needles continue to repair multiple but smaller water line breaks in the community.
The temporary repairs done yesterday have worked and the main transmission line, and booster pumps to the reservoirs is fully pressurized and is refilling the tanks.
All locations throughout Needles, California have full water service except for Lillyhill Apartments and the Needles Elks Lodge located at 1000 Lillyhill Drive.
The permanent fix is scheduled for early next week, and Lillyhill Drive from Cibola Street to Casa Linda Street will remain close to all vehicles, including the Needles Area Transit bus service, but pedestrians can cross over the bridge.
