Needles, CA: Meeting held to informing the community about the United States Census 2020.

Needles, California: A meeting was held inside the Giggling Cactus restaurant on Wednesday, January 8th, 2019 to inform the community about the upcoming United States Census 2020.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez attended the meeting and broadcast live at ZachNews on Facebook the meeting.

Andrea Castillo, Bernold Pollard and Lupe Camacho all discussed with members of the Needles Chamber of Commerce, officials from the City of Needles and public about making everybody court for the Census, especially for rural desert communities like Needles, California.

The group discussed what the Census means for this community, bringing valuable federal dollars for schools, local and county services; especially what services are being used and are needed in these communities

The group also discussed the job opportunities people in our community have to work with the United States Census 2020.

Hours are flexible for these temporary positions and workers are paid weekly at $17.00 an hour.

Positions include census takers, field supervisors, recruiting assistants, clerks and office operations supervisors.
