News Update!!: Needles, CA: California Highway Patrol needs public’s help regarding a vehicle that struck 11 year old victim in fatal crash Thanksgiving Day along eastbound Interstate 40.

ZachNews has just received new information regarding the fatal crash that killed a 11 year old kid along eastbound Interstate 40 in Needles, California on Thanksgiving Day.

The California Highway Patrol was advised of a single vehicle rollover traffic collision on eastbound Interstate 40 at mile marker 133 at approximately 6:50 p.m. PT on Thursday, November 28th, 2019.

According to the California Highway Patrol, due to driver’s unsafe speed for condition, which we’re cool and wet, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to overturn at least one full rotation.

ZachNews has learned today from Officer Joseph Medina with the California Highway Patrol in Needles, California that “during the roll-over sequence, the 11 year old male passenger was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the #2 lane of eastbound Interstate 40. A short time later, an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 in the #2 lane struck 11 year old male passenger as he was lying in the lane. The unknown vehicle continued traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 and did not stop at the scene.”

The California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene and encountered an unconscious young male lying on the south asphalt shoulder.

According to the California Highway Patrol, due to driver’s unsafe speed for condition, which we’re cool and wet, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to overturn at least one full rotation.

The male passenger was unrestrained and fully ejected from the vehicle.

The male passenger who was the ejected was pronounced deceased at the scene and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Corners Division’s Mark Johnson was notified.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner Division, the male passenger has been identified as 11 year old Kennedy Francisco from San Bernardino, California.

Another passenger in the vehicle suffered major injuries well two other passengers and the driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the cause of the traffic collision is still under investigation.

The California Highway Patrol in Needles, California is searching for witnesses or persons who may be able to provide further information about the fatal crash, and hit and run incident all occurring along eastbound Interstate 40 between mile marker 133 and mile marker 134, east of U.S. Route 95 (Highway to Searchlight, Nevada).
