Havasu Lake, CA: Man dies and a passenger injured in off-highway vehicle rollover crash.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:13 a.m. PT on Saturday, November 30th, 2019, the California Highway Patrol received information from the San. Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, advising of a single OHV vehicle rollover traffic collision, within the open desert, south of Havasu Lake, California.
California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene and encountered an unconscious male lying within the open desert.
According to the California Highway Patrol, due to driver’s unsafe speed for the uneven dirt trail terrain, the vehicle overturned causing the driver to be partially ejected and passenger to be fully ejected from the vehicle.
San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel provided care, and Firefighter Paramedic Nick Papageorges pronounced P-1 deceased at 7:03 a.m. PT.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner Division Mark Johnson was notified.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner Division, the deceased driver is identified as 26 year old Dave Gardner from Las Vegas, Nevada.
The passenger had minor injuries, and was treated then was released on scene.
The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
