Downtown Needles, CA: Over 600 meals served and many young volunteering during free Thanksgiving Day Dinner at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Hall.
The community enjoyed a delicious dinner for Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 28th, 2019 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Hall in Downtown Needles, California.
Thee dinner event was a joint partnership with St. Vincent de Paul and Set Free Church of Needles; all coming together to feed the community as a family.
Approximately 40 volunteers were helping out inside the dinning hall before the event while another 35 people waited in line to also volunteers.
As a dinner event begin, volunteers many of them young kids and early teens were seen helping out passing out food to those from the community, coming from outside of the cold stormy day into a warm place of unity served up with loving food.
According to George DeLeon with St Vincent de Paul, over 600 meals were served during the Thanksgiving Day dinner event, the largest in many years.
An important to note is not only that the community unites together to help feed the community, but to see the younger generation helping their community, hoping that their caring and giving spirit continues and never stops.
