Live Weather Alert!!: Colorado River Tri-State: Storm brings pouring rain, gusty winds, thunder and lightning on Thanksgiving Day 2019.
A storm has brought pouring rain, gusty winds, thunder and lightning to communities in the Colorado River Tri-State area on Thanksgiving Day 2019.
Just after 4:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, November 28th, 2019, pouring rain, gusty winds, thunder and lightning occurred in Needles, California.
ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez is at Rainbo Beach Resort in Needles, California for a Thanksgiving Day gathering when the storm erupted outside, and began broadcasting live as pouring rain, gusty winds, thunder and lightning occurred.
Afterwards, ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez joined Don McCone from Rainbo Beach Resort in Needles, California to check on the storm’s aftermath around the area, especially along Needles Highway where flooding usually occurs, but there’s construction work going on along the roadway.
The video above from ZachNews shows the flooding along National Trails Highway just west of Needles Highway and along Needles Highway just north of Interstate 40 at the construction sites for the Needles Highway Improvement Project is underway.

Needles Highway is closed from Park Road to reportedly the California/Nevada state line.

The North K Street Underpass is closed from Front Street to Needles Highway.
ZachNews has learned from Loree Gaskill in Golden Shores, Arizona, both Mohave County Route 1 and Oatman Highway at Sacramento Wash are closed; the only two roads in and out of Topock and Golden Shores.
According to the Mohave County Road Department, the following roadways are closed due to weather:
– Oatman Highway from Mile Marker 40 To Mile Marker 6.
– County Route 1 from Golden Shores, Arizona to Courtwright Road.
– Boundary Cone Road from Ellery Street to Oatman Highway.

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Flash Flood Warning until 8:30 p.m. PT / 9:30 p.m. MT on November 28th, 2019 for southwestern Mohave County in northwestern Arizona, east central San Bernardino County in southern California, and south central Clark County in southern Nevada.
