Needles, CA: Groundbreaking Ceremony today for Needles Highway Improvement Project.
According to the Needles City Manager Rick Daniels, San Bernardino County Public Works and the City of Needles will be conducting a groundbreaking ceremony at 11:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 for the Needles Highway Improvement Project in Needles, California.
“This much needed road improvement project has been under study since 2004.This critical road project will improve traffic safety and overall better access to Needles properties,” said City of Needles Mayor Jeff Williams.
The project is funded by a $3.9 millions federal grant.
The existing road from the Interstate 40 interchange to the River Road Cutoff will be reconstructed and repaved with new drainage improvements.
The Needles Public Utility Authority will also add water and sewer cross over lines in preparation of extending water and sewer facilities into Needles.
The groundbreaking ceremony will involve City and County officials at north end of the project within the current closure area.
One can access the site from the National Trails Highway detour the north end.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be broadcast live at ZachNews on Facebook stating at around 11:00 a.m. PT.
