Breaking News!!: Navarro County, TX: Missing United States Marine Lance Cpl. Job Covey Wallace found safe and unharmed.
A United States Marine from Camp Pendleton, California, who was reported missing last week, was found safe and unharmed in Texas.
The San Diego Union-Tribune that in a statement from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, 20 year old Lance Cpl. Job Wallace, was taken into custody by Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and law enforcement at a Navarro County rest stop in Navarro County, Texas, on Saturday night.
NCIS did not say what Wallace was doing there or why he was taken into custody.
Before his disappearance, Lance Cpl. Job Covey Wallace with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division was last seen leaving a friend’s home in Surprise, Arizona, on Monday, September 16th, 2019.
The Job Covey Wallace was on his way back to Camp Pendleton after a 3 day leave.
According to his family, Wallace became impossible to contact after stopping to see the friend in Arizona, but his vehicle was spotted on surveillance video the next morning near Fort Hancock, Texas.
The family isn’t sure if it was Wallace actually driving the truck.
The Wallace family said on Facebook that the Marine Corps and FBI were aware of his disappearance, though the FBI did not believe it was a criminal case.
“We offer our sincere gratitude to the local police departments in Texas and Arizona, as well as our federal partners, for their aid in bringing this to a safe resolution,” Kurt Thomas, special agent in charge of the NCIS Marine Corps West field office, said in a statement issued Saturday night.
