Golden Shores, AZ: Care packages of appreciation to the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6306 and Auxiliary and the community.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6306 and Auxiliary in Golden Shores, Arizona packed up care packages on Thursday, September 6th, 2019 to send out to the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan.

Food, snacks candies and grooming supplies where stacked up on tables already to be packed into the care packages.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez was there as the room filled with people started packing up the care packages, many of the items donated from members and the community.

After all the goodies were loaded into the care packages, handwritten letters from kindergartener students at Topock Elementary School were placed on top of the goodies inside the care packages; the handwritten letters included questions about the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan and where they were located, and wishing everybody safe travels.

After all the goodies and letters are placed into the care packages, the care packages were loaded up in the back of a vehicle to be taken to the United States Postal Service on Friday to be sent out to the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez spoke with Secretary and Treasurer Marie Thomas and Auxiliary President Barbara Anger with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6306 and Auxiliary in Golden Shores, Arizona regarding Care Packages Pack Day and giving care packages to everybody on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, and overall giving thanks to everybody serving in our military.

A total of 56 care packages where put together all of the wonderful people at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6306 and Auxiliary and community.
