Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: Lockdown at Vista Colorado Elementary School after possible gun on campus, later determined unfounded and no threat.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Colorado River Station were at Vista Colorado Elementary School in Needles, California after a lockdown was placed.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary Lopez arrived at the campus at around 10:37 a.m. PT on Friday, August 30th, 2019 after parents were notifications by the school district about the lockdown.

This picture (Above) is the message obtained by ZachNews of the message parents received.

Deputies were seen searching the campus of the elementary school than the campus of Needles High School.

The campus of Vista Colorado Elementary School as well as Needles Middle School were placed on a lockdown out of caution well some parents began showing up at the campus of the elementary school.

Deputies were seen telling parents that their kids are okay and that they are continuing the search the campus to make sure it’s safe.

About an hour later, deputies left the campuses and the school lifted the lockdown.

Moments ago, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Colorado River Station released the latest information regarding the lockdown, saying, “Today deputies responded to Vista Colorado Elem School in Needles for a report of a possible gun on campus. The school was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Deputies investigated the report, which was determined to be unfounded. There was no threat to the school.”
