Downtown Needles, CA: Person injured and man arrested for attempted murder after trying to run over three people with his vehicle.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, on Thursday, August 8th, 2019, deputies responded to an assault with deadly weapon call near H Street and Third Street in Downtown Needles, California.
During the investigation deputies determined the man, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station as 31 years old Robert Peter Clarkson from Needles, California, used his vehicle as a weapon, accelerating toward three victims walking through an alley way.
One of the victims was struck by the vehicle driven by Clarkson.
The victim suffered minor injuries as a result and received medical treatment at the Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, California.
Clarkson fled the scene in his vehicle and was located shortly after the incident and taken into police custody.
He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto with bail set at $1,000,000.
