Downtown Needles, CA: Suspects traveling together were arrested by deputies for possession of two separate stolen Jeeps.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019, deputies from the Colorado River Station in Needles, California received information regarding a stolen white 2019 Jeep Wrangler vehicle.

Deputies were able to locate the reported stolen vehicle, unoccupied, parked in the Jack in the Box restaurant parking lot in Downtown Needles, California.

The suspects, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Colorado River Station as 31 years old Rene Martinez Rosales ftom Mexicali, Mexico and 31 years old Ana Grecia Alvarez from Brawley, California exited the Jack in the Box and made their way to the stolen vehicle.

Alvarez got in the stolen vehicle and Rosales got into a black Jeep (bearing Baja, CA plate) parked next to the stolen white Jeep.

Traffic enforcement stops were conducted on both Jeeps along North K Street at Smokestack in Needles, California for further investigation.

A records check confirmed the white Jeep was listed as stolen/embezzled from Avis Rental Car in Ontario, California as of Monday, July 15th, 2019.

The black jeep wrangler was cold plated with a license plate from Baja, California.

A records check on the VIN of the second jeep returned as stolen out of Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, July 28th, 2019.

Rosales and Alvarez were arrested for PC 496D(a) Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

They were booked into the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California without incident.

San Bernardino County Department of Child and Family Services was contacted for three children in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.

The children were released to Child and Family Services without incident.
