Gilroy Police Department announced during a press conference the following:
– The F.B.I. has opens full domestic terrorism investigation.
– The suspect fired approx 39 rounds.
– Three officers from the Gilroy Police Department fired a total of 18 rounds.
– Gilroy Police Department bullets struck suspect multiple times.
– No victims killed died by Gilroy Police Department friendly fire.
– Motive into the deadly shooting is still “unknown.”

The community of Gilroy, California came together tonight to remember those who lost their lives during the deadly shooting.

More details have been coming out on the three Edison victims who lost their lives in a deadly shooting.
The 6 year old boy who died was identified as Stephen Romero by members of his family.
Stephen Romero’s Father Alberto Romero told NBC Bay Area News, “My son had his whole life to live and he was only 6. That’s all I can say.”
According to the Keuka College in New York, a second male victim who died was identified as 25 year old Trevor Irby, a 2017 graduate of Keuka College.
According to the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner, the 13 year old girl who died was identified as Keyla Salazar from San Jose, California.

Earlier today, California Governor Gavin Newson visit polls were injured in the shooting, including meeting with a 12 year old Leslie Andreas was shot in the leg during the shooting.
The owner of Big Mike’s Gun and Ammo in Fallon, Nevada where the suspect’s gun was legally purchase, issued an apology to the family and friends of the victims in the deadly shooting. Posting on their Facebook page, the owner wrote, “We feel so very sorry for the Families, I am heartbroken this could ever happen. Please show only respect here. Good people have been hurt and this goes against everything I believe in. I have always said we will sell to good people and have done everything we can to make sure this happens. We obey the Laws, We are a small home business, we sell to people who we think are upstanding citizens to promote safe sport shooting. I pray to God for all the families. I did not know this individual. He ordered the rifle off my internet page. When I did see him, he was acting happy and showed no reasons for concern. I would never ever sell any firearm to anyone who acted wrong or looks associated with any bad group like white power. Everyone is my brother and sister and I am mourning for the families. Mike.”
Moments ago, Gilroy Police said that they haven’t ruled out a second suspect yet, but they have stopped searching.

A press conference regarding the deadly shooting was held moments ago, here’s the latest information:
Reports of the shooting came in at 5:42 p.m. PT.
Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said the suspect got inside the event through the creek and used an unknown tool to cut into the fence.
At least three people are dead including a 6 year old boy, a 13 year old girl and a male in his 20’s.
Armed suspect engaged in officers, three officers took down suspect. Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said, “As soon as he saw the officers he engaged the officers and fired at the officers with that rifle. Despite the fact that they were outgunned with their handguns against a rifle, those three officers were able to fatally wound that suspect and the event ended very quickly.”
Gilroy Police confirmed the identity of the suspect as 19 year old Santino William Legan.
Gilroy Police said that the suspect used an AK-47 style assault rifle that he purchased legally in Nevada on July 9th, 2019.
Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said they’re looking for a possible second suspect, who may have accompanied the gunman, and a search is underway to find that person.
Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said a motive for the shooting is not known.

Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee thanked all of the law enforcement for responding quickly to the scene and down the suspect.
Gilroy Fire Chief Jeff Clet thanked all of the firefighters paramedics and EMT workers who responded quickly to the scene, treat those who are injured and got the patient’s transported two local hospitals.
Before the Press Conference, officers with Gilroy Police and Agents from the Department of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms were searching this morning a home belonging to Legan’s father in Churchill Place in Gilroy, California, about a mile away from Christmas Hill Park, where the deadly shootings took place.
NBC Bay Area is reporting that the identity of the 6 year old boy is Steven Romero.
