Wonder Valley, CA: Fire damages home along Godwin Road.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, at 2:09 a.m. PT on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019, firefighters were dispatched to a reported residential structure in the 3000 Block Godwin Road in Wonder Valley, California.

Firefighters from Fire Station 44 arrived on scene in 15 minutes to find smoke and fire showing from the front of the home.

San Bernardino County Fire Department responded with (2) Engines, (1) Medic Brush Patrol, (1) Water tender & a Battalion Chief to the fire.

The Combat Center Fire Department also assisted with the San Bernardino County Fire Department, responding with (1) Engine.

Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack and knocked down the fire in approximately 15 minutes.

While performing fire attack, crews also completed a search of the home to ensure no occupants were inside at the time of the fire.

Once the fire was knocked down, fire crews made salvage a priority, covering personal effects inside to limit damage.

Due to no local fire hydrants crews used a San Bernardino County Fire Department Water Tender to supply much needed water to engines.

A fire investigator from San Bernardino County Fire Department Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) responded to investigate the fire’s cause and origin.

The Red Cross was requested to assist in temporary housing of one adult.

No damage estimates were available at the time of the release.

While local fire crews were committed to the fire, a “move-up” engine was utilized to ensure there was uninterrupted service.
