News Update!!: Essex, CA: Search for hiker missing Barbara Thomas continued Sunday morning, but suspended rest of the day search due to extreme temperatures.

ZachNews has the latest information on the search for a missing Bullhead City, Arizona woman in the desert area in San Bernardino County, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, the search continues on Sunday, July 21st, 2019 for missing person, 69 years old Barbara Thomas from Bullhead City, Arizona, in the Mohave Desert near Essex, California.

Search and Rescue members from throughout the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were deployed into the field Sunday morning just after sunrise.

K9 units, members certified in cave searches, rope climbing and desert terrain ground searchers were utilized today.

The search has been suspended due to extreme temperatures.

Jodi Miller, Public Information Officer with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, tells ZachNews that the suspended of the search due to extreme temperatures is just for today.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, no evidence of Barbara was located today

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, Barbara Thomas went missing on Friday, July 12th, 2019 when she and her husband Robert were hiking in the Mohave desert approximately 20 miles north of the Interstate 40 east of Kelbaker Road.

During the hike, Barbara and Robert got separated and she has not been seen since.

Barbara is 5’9, 130 lbs., Blonde hair, Green eyes and was last seen wearing a black bikini, a red baseball cap and tan hiking boots with black socks.
