Traffic Update!!: Downtown Needles, CA: North K Street Underpass reopens after being damaged by a vehicle collision.
ZachNews has learned that the North K Street Underpass near Downtown Needles, California has reopened to vehicles under eight feet.
The metal beam that was damaged as well as the concrete siding of the metal beam have been replaced and repaired, even new yellow paint on the metal beam.
The underpass was closed back on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 due to a vehicle collision.
As seen in the picture above, thr collision caused a steel beam that is near to the railroad bridge to be bent up and both of the concrete supporters on the side of the steel beam became cracked.
Officials with the City of Needles tell ZachNews that the repairs will be made by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and will bill the person who hit the underpass.
A reminder, the North K Street Underpass is for vehicles that can clear the eighth feet clearance, not over the clearance limit, this includes semi trucks, oversize load semi trucks, recreational vehicles and motorhomes.
