Needles, CA: Community Meeting today to discuss San Bernardino County First District’s community development and fair housing needs.

San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood and the City of Needles want the community to join them at a community meeting in Needles, California for a discussion that will help shape our First District’s community development and fair housing needs.

The community meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, July 18th, 2019 inside the inside the Needles City Council Chambers, located at 1111 Bailey Avenue near J Street.

Parking is located just off of Bailey Avenue near the San Bernardino County Needles Branch Library building and just off of J Street near the Needles Recreation Center.

Consolidated Plan – assesses the current housing market, discusses characteristics of the county’s population, identifies community improvement priorities, and outlines a five-year plan to fund and implement them.

• Citizen Participation and Consultation
• Affordable Housing
• Public and Assisted Housing
• Homeless and Other Special Needs Facilities and Services
• Barriers to Affordable Housing

Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) – will identify barriers to equal access to housing and neighborhood opportunities and will propose strategies to overcome those barriers.

• Access to Opportunity
• Land Use & Zoning
• Housing
• Housing Discrimination and Hate Crimes
• Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
