News Update!!: Essex, CA: Search continues Wednesday for missing hiker Barbara Thomas.
ZachNews has the latest information on the search for a missing Bullhead City, Arizona woman in the desert area in San Bernardino County, California.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, the search continues on Wednesday, July 17th, 2019 for missing person, 69 years old Barbara Thomas from Bullhead City, Arizona, in the Mohave Desert.
Search and Rescue volunteers, a K9 Unit, Sheriff’s Aviation and personnel from the River Station are continuing to search the Mohave Desert in the area of Kelbaker/Hidden Hills near the 1-40.
Search efforts began this morning at sun up.
There have been no sightings of her at this time. The temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees today.
Barbara was last seen in the area of Kelbaker/Hidden Hills near the Interstate 40.
Barbara Thomas has been missing since Friday, July 12th, 2019 when Barbara and her husband Robert were hiking in the Mohave desert approximately 20 miles north of the Interstate 40 east of Kelbaker Rd.
During the hike, Barbara and Robert got separated and she has not been seen since.
Barbara is 5’9, 130 lbs., Blonde hair, Green eyes and was last seen wearing a black bikini, a red baseball cap and tan hiking boots with black socks.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada the weather conditions in the search area will continue to remain sunny the mostly clear, with temperatures in the low-90s all the way through the weekend, with gusty winds between 20 mph to 26 mph on Thursday and Friday, and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms may occur next week, as early as Tuesday night.
