News Update!!: Essex, CA: Search continues Tuesday for missing hiker Barbara Thomas.

ZachNews has the latest information on the search for a missing Bullhead City, Arizona woman in the desert area in San Bernardino County, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, the search continues for missing person, 69 years old Barbara Thomas from Bullhead City, Arizona, in the Mohave Desert.

Nearly 20 Search and Rescue volunteers, and deputies assigned to the River Station are continuing the search.

Off road vehicles are being utilized to allow searchers to cover additional area.

ZachNews has learned that assisting the search and rescue efforts over the weekend, members of the Victor Valley Search and Rescue (VVSAR) team were active for this search over the weekend; on the ground, on Off-Highway Vehicles and doing incident management.

There have been no sightings of her at this time. The temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degrees today.

Barbara was last seen in the area of Kelbaker/Hidden Hills near the Interstate 40.

Barbara Thomas has been missing since Friday, July 12th, 2019.

Barbara and her husband Robert were hiking in the Mohave desert approximately 20 miles north of the Interstate 40 east of Kelbaker Rd.

During the hike, Barbara and Robert got separated and she has not been seen since.

Barbara is 5’9, 130 lbs., Blonde hair, Green eyes and was last seen wearing a black bikini, a red baseball cap and tan hiking boots with black socks.

As the search continues for missing Barbara Thomas, Robert Thomas is talking about the last moments he saw Barbara in an news interview spoken journalist Leah Pezzetti from ABC affiliate KTNV Channel 13.

Robert Thomas tells KTNV 13 Action News that he and Barbara drove their camper to the area Friday then went on a short, two-mile hike.

They were almost back to the trailer when he stopped to take a picture while Barbara continued on, and that’s the last time he saw her.

He got to the trailer and saw that it was still locked and Barbara was nowhere to be found, and after searching the area and calling for her, he called 911.

Robert tells KTNV 13 Action News that if anyone did pick her up, he won’t press charges; he just wants her home safe.

The Thomas’ formerly lived in the Henderson, Nevada but currently live in the Bullhead City, Arizona.
