Needles, CA: Deputies arrested a man for strong arm robbery after stealing beer and assaulting store clerk.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, at 6:20 a.m. PT on Sunday, July 14th, 2019, deputies responded to the 2500 block of West Needles Highway in Needles, California following a report of a strong arm robbery at a convenience store/gas station.
When deputies arrived, they determined the suspect, identified by the the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station as 41 year old Christopher Hood from Needles, California, came to the location, selected a 12 pack of beer from the shelves, assaulted a clerk and left the location without paying for the merchandise.
It was determined Hood left in a green colored vehicle.
Deputies located Hood’s vehicle at the 1700 block of West Needles Highway in Needles, California.
Hood was contacted at the location, and subsequently placed under arrest for California Penal Code section 211, Robbery.
He was booked into the Colorado River Jail, pending a court hearing on $100,000.00 bail.
The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the victim.
