Downtown Needles, CA: Come to the Route 66 Train Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony today.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held for the Route 66 Train Park at 10:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, June 6th, 2019 along Front Street, between J Street and K Street, in Downtown Needles, California.
The ceremony celebrates the completion of the project, beautifying the train park area; removing the dead grass and thick brush, and replacing it with colorful rocks, a few trees and seating areas as well as a flagpole and signage.
The train park is locates next to some displayed rail cars and runs along the original Route 66.
The project, which took several years to complete, was put together with the help and support by members of the Needles Downtown Business Alliance, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, Joe Jones of the Shell Gas Station and City of Needles.
