Breaking News!!: Needles, CA: Semi truck carrying candy products on fire along Interstate 40.

A semi truck fire carrying candy products is on fire along westbound Interstate 40 at mile marker 152 in Needles, California.

Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Station 32 have responded to the fire along with California Highway Patrol.

As of 3:59 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire Department reporting on the semi truck fire, fully engulfed and in attack mode.

California Highway Patrol is reporting the semi truck fire is along the right shoulder of westbound Interstate 40 near Catfish Bay west of the state line with California and Arizona.

As of 4:08 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire Department reports semi truck is carrying candy products, “mostly marshmallows,” and is asking for a wrecking crew from Needles, California to respond.

California Highway Patrol reporting that both lanes of westbound Interstate 40 is closed at mile marker 152.

As of 4:15 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire Department reports construction tractor and tow truck is reporting.

As of 4:22 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire Department reports fire is out, and will be there waiting for clean up equipment to arrive.

As of 4:28 a.m., California Highway Patrol is reporting the #1 Lane of westbound Interstate 40 is open.

As of 6:12 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire Department reports loader construction truck has arrived to help with clean up.
