Weather Alert!!: Colorado River Tri-State: Flash Flood Watch!!
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a Flash Flood Watch until 12:00 a.m. PST on Friday, February 15th, 2019 for southern San Bernardino County, California and southern Mohave County, Arizona.
According to the National Weather Service, heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding across portions of San Bernardino County, California and Mohave County, Arizona today, and a potent atmospheric river will take aim at the region, with heavy rainfall expected in area mountains and precipitation also spilling over into valleys.
As of 4:43 a.m. PST, rain is moving into communities in the Colorado River Tri-State area, including Needles, California and Golden Shores, Arizona, and passing over Needles Highway, Route 66, U.S. Route 95 and Interstate 40.
Please use caution along wet roadways and do not drive into flooded roadways; “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may become favorable for flooding of washes, streams and other drainage areas in the watch area. If you are in the watch area, you should closely monitor weather forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should heavy rain and flooding occur or a flash flood warning is issued.
