Needles, CA: Deputies arrested several suspects during a residential burglary investigation.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department’s Colorado River Station, at 12:31 p.m. PT on Sunday, January 27th, 2019, deputies responded to the 100 block of McShans Lane in Needles, California reference a trespass. While on scene, it was determined the suspects forced entry into the residence and stole various items. Deputies were able to obtain evidence that led to several investigative leads.

At approximately 3:10 p.m., deputies located one of the involved suspects, identified as 41 year old Harley David Cadez from Needles, California, on the 100 block of North K Street. While conducting interviews, deputies learned of two additional suspects that were involved in the burglary.

At 7:49 p.m. PT, deputies contacted one of the suspects, identified as 43 year old James Dean Hicks from Needles, California, on the 1500 block of Front Street.

During this contact, deputies located the stolen property from the residence on McShans Lane. While at the residence, deputies made contact with a female, identified as 36 year old Christina Rose McNeal from Needles, California, who was found to be in possession of stolen property from a separate residential burglary that occurred on the 500 block of North L Street.

At 9:49 p.m. PT, deputies located and conducted a traffic stop on the third suspect, 47 year old Travis Allen Melon from Needles, California, on Balboa Street at Flora Vista. Travis Allen Melon was taken into police custody without incident.

Harley David Cadez was arrested for trespassing and vandalism and cite released.

James Dean Hicks and Travis Allen Melon were arrested for residential burglary and possession of stolen property. Both were transported to the Colorado River Station for booking.

Travis Allen Melon is currently being held on $50,000 bond, pending a court hearing. James Dean Hicks, who is on Post Release Community Supervision, was booked and is being held on a no bail probation violation, pending a court hearing.

Christina Rose McNeal was arrested for possession of stolen property and cite released.
