News Update!!: Downtown Needles, CA: Fire near homes and an apartment building off F Street being called accidental.

ZachNews is learning that the fire off F Street was an “accidental”, combustibles being too close to a heated source, Mohave Valley Fire Department telling ZachNews.

The fire, which started before 11:13 p.m. PT on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019, burned a pickup truck, a garage and another small structure off the 200 block of F Street, between West Broadway and Third Street, in Downtown Needles, California.

Local resident Andy Williams contacted ZachNews of the fire burning and sent these pictures into ZachNews of the fire from his back yard.

Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department and Mohave Valley Fire Department as well as San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were on scene as evacuated residents from surrounding homes and an apartment building watched from surrounding streets.

Firefighters batted the fire, using water and foam, well trying to keep the fire away from the surrounding residential buildings.

Firefighters were seen putting water onto flames that got close to a utility truck for the City of Needles.

The utility truck was moved away from the fire.

The fire was contained and put out an hour later, and the surrounding homes and a near apartment building were protected and untouched by the fire.

Residents are slowing being allowed to go back into their homes and apartment units, and surrounding streets around the fire have since been reopened.
