ZachNews has just received more information regarding the report of a fatal vehicle crash along westbound Interstate 40 near Essex, California on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 3:50pm PT, a female driver identified as 19 year old Kimberly Alvarez from Pacoima, California, was driving a 2004 Honda Civic westbound on Interstate 40 at mile post marker 40 SBD 88.00 at approximately 70 miles per hour. For unknown reason, driver allowed vehicle to travel onto the south dirt shoulder, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, Driver attempted to steer vehicle back onto the roadway but over corrected. As a result, vehicle continued to travel westbound while rotating in a clock wise manner. The vehicle ultimately overturned at least one full rotation causing major damage to vehicle. Kimberly Alvarez sustained fatal injuries due to being fully ejected from vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene, A male passenger, identified as 19 year old Carlos Daniel Burgos from Hawthorne, California, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
