Golden Valley, AZ: Man dies after vehicle gets swept into wash.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, just after 12:00am MST on Thursday, October 4th, 2018, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received information of an SUV that had been swept into a running wash and had become submerged off of Shinarump Road just west of Oatman Road in Golden Valley, Arizona.
Search and rescue swift water technicians responded to the area to begin searching for the submerged vehicle and its sole occupant. The vehicle was located about 6/10th of mile from Shinarump Road by searchers along the bank of the Holy Moses Wash.
As swift water technicians continued searching, the Classic Air Medical helicopter located the driver about two miles from where the vehicle had originally entered the wash.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the man was found deceased and has been identified as 34 year old Joshua Allen Carlisle from Golden Valley, Arizona.
The high water marks along this wash in areas varied between 10 to 20 feet above the dry wash bed.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue would like to remind the public to use extreme caution around running washes.
