Request from Pastor Jones to retain a shipping container on Balboa Street.

Members of the Needles City Council voted 5-1 to allow Jones to leave his shipping container on Balboa Street and meanwhile the city will restructure the ordinance. Once the ordinance is restructured they will go back to Jones and tell him what he needs to do in order to be in compliance. Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams voted “No” on this agenda item.

– Agenda Item #20:

Discussion regarding Development Impact Fees for residential development.

Members of the Needles City Council voted 3-2-1 to eliminate all development impact fees for residential development. Needles City Council Member Tona Belt and Needles Vice Mayor Jeff Williams voted “No” on this agenda item, and Needles City Council Member Shawn Gudmundson “Abstained” on this agenda item. Motion failed to pass without 4 votes. The ordinance will be place on the agenda for amendment at the next Needles City Council meeting.

– Agenda Item #21:

Discussion regarding prohibition of Cannabis Facilities in the downtown area.

Members of the Needles City Council unanimously voted to move forward with the general plan update.
