The National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada has issued a “Flash Flood Watch” from 3:00pm PT on September 30th, 2018 to 5:00am PT on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018 for the Mohave County, Arizona; Eastern San Bernardino County, California; Eastern Inyo County, California; Clark County, Nevada; Lincoln County, Nevada; and Southern Nye County, Nevada.
People living or is visiting the Colorado River Tri-State area should be prepared for the approaching storms.

Posting on their official Twitter page, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station is telling boaters along the Colorado River, “Severe weather is approaching. Boating is not recommended and all watercraft should seek safety on shore immediately.”

Downtown Needles, CA: Deputies arrested two people for child endangerment.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, on Friday, September 28th, 2018, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station were dispatched to the 1100 block of West Broadway in Needles, California reference a found child.
The reporting party found a 4 year old child walking around in the area of West Broadway and H Street. with no supervision or parents.
Deputies recognized the child from a residence at the 200 Block of H Street.
Deputies went to the residence and found the mother, 30 year old Ashley Ornelas from Needles, California, sleeping.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station, 36 year old Pete Jewell from Needles, California was also found sleeping in the home with Ornelas.
Jewell had a no bail warrant and is on Parole for Robbery.
Heroin and a glass pipe, commonly used for smoking methamphetamine, was found inside of the residence where children had access to it.
Children and Family Services was notified and released the child to the father.
Ornelas was booked into the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California where she is being held pending a court hearing with a $100,000 bond.
Jewell was booked into the Colorado River Station Jail in Needles, California and held for a no bail warrant.

ZachNews has received a press release from the California Highway Patrol regarding the fatal crash involving a semi truck versus cars along U.S. Route 95 approximately 10 miles south of Needles, California that occurred at 3:21am PT on Saturday, September 29th, 2018.

According to the California Highway Patrol, “Party #1 (57 year old Richard A. Palmer from Rialto, California) was driving Vehicle #1 (Toyota) northbound on US-95 in the northbound lane, north of Compressor Plant Road, at an unknown speed.
Party #2 (51 year old Marvin Graham from Tolleson, Arizona) was driving Vehicle #2 (Volvo/Wabash), a cominercial truck and trailer combination, southbound on US-95 in the southbound lane, north of Compressor Plant Road, at a stated speed of “55-60 MPH.” Vehicle #1 was approaching Vehicle #2.
For unknown reasons, Party #1 drove Vehicle #1 across a painted solid double yellow line into the southbound lane of US-95 directly in front of Vehicle #2.
Vehicle #1’s right front collided with Vehicle #2’s right front.
The force of the collision caused Vehicle #1 to travel from US-95 in a westerly direction into the desert.
The force of the collision caused Vehicle #2 to travel in a southeasterly direction.
Vehicle #1 came to rest on its wheels west of US-95 in the desert.
Vehicle #2 came to rest blocking both lanes of US-95 with its front wheels in the northbound lane and its rear wheels in the southbound lane.
Vehicle #1’s right front passenger (37 year old Michael Moore from Simi Valley, California) succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries sustained from the collision.
Party #1 was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center to be treated for unknown internal injuries.
Party #2 sustained no injuries.

There has been a fatal crash involving a semi truck versus cars along U.S. Route 95 approximately 10 miles south of Needles, California.
The crash occurred at 3:21am PT on Saturday, September 29th, 2018.
Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department are at the crash location and report 1 “D.O.A.” and 1 immediate by helicopter, arriving at Needles Airport.

ZachNews photojournalist Zachary Lopez arrived to the scene of the fatal crash and took this picture of the car that was involved in the fatal crash.
ZachNews has learned from the California Highway Patrol that the fatality was to a passenger in the right seat of the car.
The name, age and gender of the person who is deceased has not been released yet.
ZachNews has also learned from the California Highway Patrol that the driver of the car was transported to a medevac helicopter to a hospital in Lake Havasu City, Arizona well the driver of the semi truck was not injured.
The names, ages and genders of the people who were injured and not injured has not been released yet.
ZachNews is awaiting a press release from the California Highway Patrol with more information regarding the fatal crash.
The coroner’s office has already removed the body from the wrecked car along the southbound shoulder of U.S. Route 95.
Active Towing have cleaned up and removed both the semi truck and car from the scene.

California Governor Jerry Brown signed a series of new firearm bills on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 that tightened rules for carrying concealed weapons and bump stocks.

Among the new firearm bills signed, one requires at least 8 hours of training, including live fire exercises, before carrying a concealed weapon.
California Governor Jerry Brown also signed a bill that made it clear rapid-fire bump stocks are illegal in California.
California Governor Jerry Brown did vetoed a bill to expand the state’s gun violence restraining order law, which would have allowed colleagues, mental health workers and school employees to seek restraining orders.
California Governor Jerry Brown also vetoed a bill that allows suicidal individuals to put themselves on the list of those banned from buying weapons.
The new firearm bills that were signed will go into effect on January 1st, 2019.
