Breaking News!!: San Bernardino, CA: Freight train derailment involving 13 tanker cars prompts evacuations.

A freight train derailment involving at least 13 tanker cars occurred near the 7200 block of Cajon Boulevard in San Bernardino, California prompting evacuations.

The train derailment happed before 10:00am PT on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018.

Hazmat crews are there at the site of the derailment.

Authorities say a gas and alcohol based liquid was leaking from 3 of the 13 tanker cars.

According to San Bernardino Police Department, surrounding buildings have been evacuations as a precaution.

Evacuations included a near by FedEx distribution center.

At this moment, no residents have been ordered to evacuate.

There have been no reported injuries and there was no fire.

Cajon Boulevard was closed north and south of the derailment.

The freight train was being pulled by locomotives from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

The cause is under investigation.
