News Update!!: Needles, CA: U.S. Route 95 reopens following a train derailment.
Both directions of U.S. Route 95 from Nevada State Line (Nevada State Route 163) to Interstate 40 have reopened following a train derailment occurred west of Needles, California.

According to Caltrans District 8, “Route 95 between I 40 and Nevada all lanes open.”
These pictures from the Nevada Department of Transportation shows the train derailment.
At least 15 train cars derailed off the track and reportedly onto the road.
The train, a Burlington Northern Santa Fe double stack container freight train, wasn’t carrying hazardous materials.
There are no reports of anybody hurt or killed related to the train derailment.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the train derailment.
