Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows thunderstorms have cleared the Needles, California area.

** As of 3:31pm PT on Friday, July 13th, 2018: **

According to San Bernardino County Supervisor Robert Lovingood and Caltrans District 8, U.S. Route 95, between Nevada State Line and Interstate 40, Needles, California, is closed due to earlier flooding and now a train derailment. Unknown duration for recovery and investigation.

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that a Flash Flood Warning issued for central San Bernardino County, California. One inch of rain has already fallen, and flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in areas such as Ludow, California and Amboy, California along Interstate 40.

** As of 2:18pm PT on Friday, July 13th, 2018: **

The National Weather Service has posted on their official Twitter page that a Flash Flood Warning issued for parts of San Bernardino County, California. Thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area with up to one inch already fallen. Flash flooding should commence shortly. Impacted areas include parts of U.S. Route 95 and Interstate 40.

** As of 2:25pm PT on Friday, July 13th, 2018: **

Weather radar from NBC affiliate KNBC Channel 4 shows thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain fall and possible lightning west of Needles, California.

Thunderstorms appear to be moving east and is over Route 66 and U.S. Route 95.

Beware of flooded roadways in area area of the thunderstorms, especially for Route 66 and U.S. Route 95.

If flooded and roadway is closed, “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”

Currently, light rain is falling and breezy, winds coming from the west.
