Just before 5:14pm PT on Sunday, July 8th, 2018, weather radar showed thunderstorms approaching Needles, California.

Thunderstorms appear to be moving north to northwest.
At 5:31pm PT on Sunday, July 8th, 2018, rain began falling on Needles, California. The light rain fell over motorists driving through Downtown Needles, California.
Later, a rainbow appeared to the east of Needles, California over Golden Shores, Arizona.
As evening arrived, a thunderstorm moved over U.S. Highway 95 south of Needles, California bringing lots of lightning.
Thunderstorms were also spotted over Golden Shores, Arizona and Yucca, Arizona, but would later dissipate.

At 6:01pm PT on Sunday, July 8th, 2018, the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada said on their official Twitter page that thunderstorms producing heavy rain and gusty winds on Interstate 40 between Kingman, Arizona and Yucca, Arizona thru 7:00pm MST.
Storms moving toward Bullhead, Arizona; Laughlin, Nevada; Needles, California; and Lake Havasu, Arizona, gusts over 40 mph expected between 7:00pm and 8:00pm MST.

At 7:35pm PT on Sunday, July 8th, 2018, the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Nevada said on their official Twitter page that thunderstorms will continue to dissipate over the region around Kingman, Arizona; Lake Havasu, Arizona; and Needles, California with sunset, and brief strong winds possible with isolated storm south of Needles, California near U.S. Highway 95.
