A brush fire is burning near Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass, California area.

The brush fire, named the “Box Fire”, has grown to over 100 acres.

According to the San Bernardino National Forest, the brush fire is at 0% containment, and no evacuations had yet been ordered for the nearby Devore Heights, California neighborhood.
According to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Spokesperson Cindy Bachman, all residents of Devore Heights should be prepared for any evacuation notices.
A call center for the brush fire has been set up for residents, visitors and commuters at: 1 (909) 383-5688.
At least 2 lanes of northbound Interstate 15 is closed as well as roads going into the Devore Heights, California area are closed.
Traffic is heavy in the area of the brush fire and motorists are being asked to avoid this area.
Firefighters are on scene and appear to gain the upper hand on the brush fire.

This video from Caltrans District Aid on Twitter shows air tankers are performing fire suppression drops at the northbound Interstate 15 at Kenwood Avenue.
According to the San Bernardino National Forest, a truck fire broke out before 9:50am PT on Friday, July 6th, 2018 near Interstate 15 Freeway and the Kenwood Avenue exit.
The fire then spread to nearby vegetation.
At this moment, there has been no reports of any injuries related to the brush fire.
