The wait is finally over as the iconic and beloved Nickelodeon game show ‘Double Dare’ returns to television starting at 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT on Monday, June 25th, 2018 on Nickelodeon.

The reboot of this classic kids game show will be hosted by actress and digital creator, Liza Koshy. and is being taped in a new location, at CBS Studios-Radford in Studio City, California, which is a big change from the original locations which included the old Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, which closed permanently on Saturday, April 30, 2005.
“This is a dream that I have been dreaming to live! From watching Double Dare to hosting it!? I am ready for a summer of slime and nose picking,” Liza Koshy said in a statement.
The original classic kids game show, Marc Summers, will be returning as a commentator and as executive producer.
“I can’t think of many shows like Double Dare that have the ability to bond people together–those who grew up watching the original series can now pass along their love for this game show to today’s kids. It’s an honor to be a part of this reboot,” Marc Summers said in a statement.
The Nickelodeon network announced on Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 that the iconic and beloved Nickelodeon game show ‘Double Dare’ is returning summer 2018 with brand new episodes and will feature appearances from folks from the game show’s past, longtime fans and today’s hottest celebrities.
Fans of the original game show have be waiting years for the reboot of ‘Double Dare’ and the hope is that the reboot will bring a new crop of fans of fun games and the famous green slime that all of us remember growing up.
In a statement, the Nickelodeon network said, “With ‘Double Dare’ remaining an iconic touchstone for its original millennial audiences, the new version will feature the gameplay and challenges they remember, as well as appearances from blasts from the past and stars from today.”

On Monday, October 6th, 1986, Nickelodeon debuted the game show was hosted by Marc Summers and announcer John Harvey, simply known as Harvey.
The game show had 2 teams compete to win cash and prizes by answering trivia questions or completing messy stunts known as physical challenges, and the winning team race through the an obstacle course for the grand prize, with most of the obstacles covered in variety of messy substances including green slime, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup.
After debuting, Double Dare had more than tripled viewership for Nickelodeon’s afternoon lineup, becoming the most watched original daily program on cable television, and over the next few years, grow a large fan base following with many loving the game show’s cast and the messy games.
