Review and approve the Golf, Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Plans.

Agenda Item #1 was information only and no votes was taken by members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission.

During discussion on this agenda item, Needles City Manager Rick Daniels spoke about some good news regarding the visit by San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood.

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels told members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission that Supervisor Robert Lovingood agreed to provide all funding for the gymnasium improvement at the Needles Recreation Center. 

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels told members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission that we’re borrowing 2 years in advance, “$120,000” to get to do the improvements now, and we will be ineligible for a couple of years to get grants from that pot of funds.

Needles City Manager Rick Daniels told members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission that we have currently $60,000 in the bank and thinking to do the top 3 projects, which including the repairing of the ceiling and flooring inside the Needles Recreation Center.

The group was seen looking at the inside of the Needles Recreation Center and discussing what was in need of repairs.

Review Basketball surveys and changes to the Youth Sports Handbook.

Agenda Item #2 was discretionary only, but members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission unanimously voted to approve to send to the Needles City Council amendments suggested by members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission. The amendments suggested regarding to the Youth Sports Handbook will go next to the Needles City Council.

Review Budgets 2018/19 for Recreation, Aquatics, Jack Smith Park and Golf.

Agenda Item #3 was information only and no votes was taken by members of the Needles Recreation and Parks Commission.
