United States of America President Donald Trump announced on Friday, April 13th, 2018 that he has approved military strikes in Syria in response to the poison gas attack that occurred on Saturday, April 7th, 2018.
The United States and European allies launched airstrikes Friday night against Syrian research, storage and military targets
Speaking from the White House in Washington, District of Columbia, United States President Donald Trump said the strikes were underway.
Earlier, the United States Navy was moving an additional Tomahawk missile-armed ship within striking range as United States President Donald Trump and his national security aides mulled the scope and timing of an expected military assault.
Earlier in the week, United States President Donald Trump tweeted that Russia should “get ready” because a missile attack “will be coming” at Syria, Moscow’s chief Middle East ally.
United Nation Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the Middle East is in such “peril” today that it has become a threat to international peace and security, and that Syria “represents the most serious threat.”
